Tallinna Sadam cargo volume grew in July by nearly 10 percent

In July this year, 2.3 million tonnes of cargo passed through the ports of Estonian state-owned port operator company Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn), i.e. 9.7 percent more than a year ago, the company announced, reported LETA.

In July, 1.17 million passengers passed through Tallinna Sadam, which is the record of all times, the company said. In seven months, the company serviced 5.37 million passengers, a growth of 3.9%. The number of cruise passengers grew by 7%.

In the first seven months of the year, 17.2 million tonnes of cargo was transported via Tallinna Sadam, by 4.2 percent less than at the same time last year. The biggest cargo group, liquid cargo volume grew in seven months by 1.7 percent to 12 million tonnes. The number of containers that passed through the port was 150,000 TEU, by 9.4 percent more than a year ago. Solid bulk goods transport fell by 29.6 percent to 1.7 million tonnes.

In seven months, the ports of Tallinna Sadam were visited by 1,158 cargo and 2,922 passenger ships.
