Rail cargo volumes between Belarus and Lithuania increased 15% last year

The Belarus railway company Belarusian Railway has estimated that freight volumes between the country and Lithuania have increased 15% in 2017.

The Belarusian Telegraph Agency BeTA reported on Friday, March 26, that the press service of Belarusian Railway had noted: «Last year, there was a positive momentum in freight traffic which reached 33.4 million tonnes, up 15% from 2016».

BeTA also wrote that the head of the Lithuanian state-owned Railway company Lietuvos geležinkeliai, Mantas Bartuška, travelled last week to Minsk, where he met with his counterpart at the Belarusian Railways and discussed possibilities to increase bilateral rail freight volumes further in 2018.
